Horticulture Award (MA000028)
Published adult casual rates start from $32.18/hr as at 1 July 2026, including the 25% casual loading. Higher classifications, penalties and allowances can apply on top.

What does a casual fruit picker get paid in Adelaide?
Fruit picker work in this industry is typically priced under the Horticulture Award (MA000028). Published casual rates under the Horticulture Award start from $32.18/hr as at 1 July 2026, including the 25% casual loading. What do I need to work as a fruit picker?
No formal tickets are typically required. MyGig vetting covers identity, right to work, references and role skills once, and then you can accept fruit picker shifts as they open.
Does MyGig operate in Adelaide?

When do I get paid?
The day after every shift, at no cost to you. Pay is calculated against the correct award classification with casual loading, and 12% superannuation is paid with each pay run rather than quarterly.
