MyGig + Hostplus: super at the speed of pay.
Hostplus is MyGig’s default superannuation fund: an industry fund built for hospitality, tourism, recreation, and sport, the same shift-work world MyGig serves. And because MyGig pays workers daily, their super now moves daily too.
Super contribution cycles a year on MyGig’s daily payroll, versus the 4 quarterly deadlines the old rules allowed. We believe no one else processes super at this cadence.
Superannuation guarantee on ordinary time earnings, remitted with net pay. Workers watch it accrue shift by shift in the MyGig app.
Payday super applied from the 1 July start date. MyGig’s payroll was built pay-first, so the new rules attached to an existing daily cycle instead of forcing a re-platform.
How it works
- A worker finishes a shift; MyGig pays them the day after, at no cost to them.
- The 12% super guarantee is processed with that net pay, under the payday super rules that apply from 1 July: super travels with the pay run, not the quarter.
- Contributions default to Hostplus, with full choice of fund: workers can nominate any fund, and stapled funds are respected.
- As Employer of Record, MyGig carries the obligation, the processing, and the audit trail. Businesses using MyGig have nothing to administer.
Why Hostplus
Hostplus grew up in hospitality, tourism, recreation, and sport: sectors where casual and shift work is the norm, not the exception. That makes it a natural default for a workforce that earns shift by shift. The relationship runs deeper than a default setting: Hostplus is also an indirect investor in MyGig through Artesian VC, which means our default fund is invested in the platform doing right by its members.
The compounding case for faster super is simple: contributions that reach the fund daily start earning for the member immediately, instead of sitting out of market for up to a quarter. Read the research: Payday super, daily.
General information only, not financial advice. Hostplus is the default fund for workers employed by MyGig Workforce Pty Ltd who do not nominate another fund; workers always retain choice of fund and stapled funds are respected. Daily pay. Daily super. Zero admin.
Workers: watch super land shift by shift. Businesses: the whole obligation sits with MyGig as Employer of Record.
