Launching October 2026 · NSW first

Childcare (ECEC), award-correct from day one.

From October 2026, MyGig will supply casual educators, outside-school-hours care staff and centre support to long day care centres and OSHC services in NSW, with the record a director needs for each worker: Working with Children Check details and the date they were sighted, qualifications, and training expiries. A same-day sick call should not become a register problem.

Children's Services Award · MA000120

MyGig is not yet taking childcare bookings. Long day care centres and OSHC services in NSW can register interest now and will be onboarded first when the childcare service opens in October 2026.

What the service will include

Built for the realities of childcare.

A register-ready record for every worker: WWCC number, expiry and the date MyGig sighted it, qualification with RTO and course code, and training expiries, in the fields the National Early Childhood Worker Register asks providers to hold for indirectly engaged staff.

Shifts will be priced under the Children's Services Award by the same engine that prices every MyGig shift, with the clause cited on every hour, so the award's classification structure is applied for you rather than by you.

Worker Retention Payment pass-through as an itemised invoice line and a declaration, so a service that claims the payment for indirectly engaged educators can evidence it.

Shifts will be priced under the Children's Services Award (MA000120), with the clause cited on every priced hour. Current casual rates and key terms are published in our Children's Services Award guide. Early childhood teachers are paid under the Educational Services (Teachers) Award (MA000077). Posting a shift will take about 60 seconds once the service opens, or you will be able to describe it to Amy in a sentence.

Questions operators ask

The rules, cited to the regulator.

Employment and safety law is stated here as the regulator states it, with the source linked. Check your own obligations with the regulator; nothing on this page is legal advice.

When will MyGig take childcare bookings?

Not yet. The childcare service launches for NSW long day care centres and OSHC services in October 2026. Register interest on this page and we will contact you before it opens.

Does a centre still have to verify an agency worker's WWCC itself?

Yes. The NSW Department of Education's child safety reform FAQs say approved providers who engage staff through agencies must still verify their Working with Children Check on the Office of the Children's Guardian portal, even if the agency says it has checked. MyGig will supply the WWCC number and the date it was sighted so that check takes a minute; it does not replace it. Confirm your own obligations with the regulator.

What does the National Early Childhood Worker Register mean for casual staff?

ACECQA's operational policy guide says approved providers record labour hire and agency workers as indirectly engaged, with WWCC details, qualifications and training expiries, and keep the record updated. MyGig will provide those details for every worker it places so the provider can record them. Check the guide for what applies to your service.

Can agency casuals count toward educator-to-child ratios?

ACECQA's staffing guidance treats educators working directly with children the same way whether the service employs them or an agency supplies them, and qualification requirements apply the same way. Ratios are the service's own calculation; MyGig will show each worker's qualification level so you can make it.

What about the ECEC Worker Retention Payment?

business.gov.au states that workers supplied through labour hire arrangements can be eligible for the Worker Retention Payment, with the host provider claiming it and evidencing the pass-through. MyGig will itemise the uplift on the invoice and provide a declaration for the claim. Confirm eligibility for your service with the Department.
