Hospitality labour hire that prices the award for you.

Hospitality demand does not arrive in neat weekly blocks. A function lands, a chef calls in sick, a long weekend runs hot, and the roster you built on Sunday is wrong by Thursday. MyGig lets you book bar staff, floor staff, baristas, kitchen hands and glassies shift by shift, with the people who accept already vetted on 30+ data points including RSA where the role needs it.

The part most venues care about is the pricing. Traditional labour hire quotes one hourly bill rate with the margin buried inside it, so you never see the split between what the worker is paid and what the agency keeps. MyGig shows you the Hospitality Industry (General) Award rate with the clause cited, the casual loading, the penalties that apply to that specific date and time, the on-costs, and a flat 15% service fee on top. You approve the estimate before anyone is booked.

Common questions

Good questions, straight answers.

How is this different from a hospitality recruitment agency?

A recruitment agency finds you a person to employ. Labour hire means the workers stay employed by someone else while they work in your venue. With MyGig that someone is us: we are the authorised Employer of Record, so the employment contract, payroll, PAYG, 12% superannuation, workers compensation and award interpretation are ours, and you book the shifts you need with no obligation between them.

Which award applies to hospitality shifts?

Most venue roles sit under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award (MA000009), though some clubs and restaurants fall under the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award or the Restaurant Industry Award instead. Our award engine determines which one applies and cites the clause on every hour worked, so the rate on your estimate is the rate the worker is actually paid.

Can I book the same people again?

Yes, and most venues do. Workers you have had good shifts with can be invited back directly, which is how a casual bench forms over a few weeks. There is no placement fee for rebooking someone and no penalty if you later hire them permanently.

What happens on public holidays and late nights?

The penalty is calculated from the award for that exact date and time and shown on the estimate before you book, so a Sunday function or a midnight pack-down is never a surprise on the invoice. We do not add an urgency surcharge on top.
